Lone Pine Barracks / Singleton






The base was established in 1940 as a practice area. The 14,375 hectares is divided into two main areas including: the Lone Pine Barracks and the Singleton Army Training Area. Lone Pine Barracks is located approx 8 klm south of the township of Singleton and houses the School of Infantry, Special Forces Training Centre, Defence Support Group Singleton and other regular support services.
The Royal Australian Infantry Corps Museum is also located within the barracks.
The Singleton firing range is located between Brokenback Range, the Hunter Vineyards, Lone Pine Barracks and the Mount Thorley Mine area.
AAFCANS canteen was refurbished in Sept 2017 to include improved canteen facilities, shelf-service check out, Military gear store and an entertainment / lounge dining area for members. The lounge area is equipment with Foxtel, online gaming, and USB / Qi recharge station.
